Compatibility and install guide

The eSIM is digital and data-only, with no phone number. Your phone must support eSIM and must not be locked to one carrier. Here is how to check, how to install, and what to do on arrival.

Check that your phone supports eSIM

Most recent phones support eSIM, but the same model can differ by the country it was sold in, so check your own phone.

iPhone

  • Open Settings, then Cellular (Mobile Data). If you see “Add eSIM”, your phone supports it.
  • Or open Settings → General → About: an EID line means the phone has an eSIM.

Android

  • Open Settings, then Connections or Network & internet, then SIMs. If you can add an eSIM or download a SIM, your phone supports it.

Any phone

  • Dial *#06#. If a number called EID shows up next to the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM.

Is your phone carrier-locked?

  • On iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. “No SIM restrictions” means it is unlocked.
  • On Android: ask your carrier or seller, or try a SIM from another network.

When to install

  • Install before you travel, on Wi-Fi: installing needs an internet connection.
  • Most plans start at the first connection to a network at your destination, so installing early uses none of their days.
  • A plan marked “Starts on installation” starts the day you install it, so install it close to your trip.
  • A plan marked “Starts at purchase” starts as soon as you pay, so buy it close to your trip.
  • If the plan also covers the country you leave from, keep its line off until you arrive.

Ways to install

After payment your eSIM appears on your order page: a QR code, one-tap buttons for iPhone and Android, and the manual codes. Never share the code or the page's link: they are the eSIM itself.

QR code on iPhone

  1. Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  2. Scan the code from another screen or a printout.
  3. Follow the steps and name the new line “Travel”.

QR code on Android

  1. Open Settings → Connections or Network → SIMs → Add eSIM.
  2. Scan the code and accept the download.
  3. Wait until the new line appears.

One-tap install

  • Tap the iPhone or Android button on your order page, on the phone itself, to open the add-eSIM screen directly.
  • Works on iOS 17.4+ and Android 10+. The Android link does not work inside WhatsApp's browser: open the page in Chrome.

Manual install

  • On the add-eSIM screen choose manual entry and type the SM-DP+ address and activation code exactly as your order page shows them.

Choose the data line and turn on roaming

The eSIM roams at your destination, so turn on data roaming for its line. Your own line stays as it is.

iPhone

  1. Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data: choose the travel line.
  2. Turn off “Allow Cellular Data Switching” so your own line's data is not used.
  3. Open the travel line and turn on Data Roaming.

Android

  1. Settings → SIMs: choose the travel eSIM for mobile data.
  2. Open the travel eSIM and turn on roaming.
  3. Turn off roaming on your own line so your carrier does not charge you.

No internet? Try these in order

  1. Check that the travel line is your mobile data line and that data roaming is on for it.
  2. Turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds, then off. If that doesn't help, restart the phone.
  3. Choose the network manually in the travel line's settings, picking one listed on your order page.
  4. In a few countries, such as Türkiye, Georgia and Uzbekistan, Android may need the APN typed in by hand. Your order page has an APN note.
  5. Still stuck? Message us on WhatsApp with a screenshot of the travel line's settings and your order number.

Don't delete the eSIM from your phone

  • An installed eSIM cannot move to another phone, and once deleted it may not install again.
  • To stop using it, turn its line off instead of deleting it.
  • When resetting your phone, don't pick an option that also erases eSIMs.

Frequently asked questions

What is an eSIM?

A digital SIM you install on your phone with a QR code instead of a plastic card. It gives you internet at your destination at a fixed price you know before you travel.

Does my phone support eSIM?

Most recent phones do. Open your network settings and look for “Add eSIM”, and make sure the phone is not locked to one carrier. The full steps are in the install guide.

How do I receive the eSIM?

After payment the eSIM appears on your order page in moments, with its QR code and one-tap install buttons. Keep the page's link and don't share it.

When should I install it?

Before you travel, on Wi-Fi. Most plans start at the first connection at your destination; the destination page says when each plan starts.

Will my own number keep working?

Yes. The eSIM is data only and your own line stays on the phone. Turn off roaming on it if you don't want your carrier to charge you.

Does the eSIM include calls and texts?

No, it is internet only. You can call through apps such as WhatsApp.

Which currency do I pay in?

Prices and payments are in US dollars; your card's bank may convert the amount to your card's currency at its own rate.

What name appears on my card statement?

Payments are processed by MERHABA TURİZM, whose name appears on your card statement.

Can I get a refund?

Each destination page says, under “On every plan” or on the plan's card, whether the plan can be refunded before installation. To ask for one, contact us with your order number. An installed eSIM counts as used.

What if the internet doesn't work?

Check that the travel line is your data line with roaming on, then toggle airplane mode. If it still fails, message us on WhatsApp.
